Course Overview
Hours of Service (HOS) regulations are designed to reduce driver fatigue and improve safety throughout the commercial transportation industry. Driving beyond allowable limits, failing to take required rest breaks, and maintaining inaccurate duty status records can increase the risk of serious accidents, regulatory violations, and costly penalties.
First Coast Warehouse Safety Training’s HOS Basics course introduces commercial motor vehicle drivers, dispatchers, and fleet supervisors to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Hours of Service regulations established under 49 CFR Part 395.

This course explains the importance of managing driving and on-duty time, understanding required rest periods, maintaining accurate records of duty status, and recognizing how fatigue affects driver performance and roadway safety.
